THE BRIEF:

1. To create an eye-catching entry statement that would command people’s attention upon first impression and that wouldn’t date.
2. Design and build an outdoor area at the cellar door that was multi level to cater for outdoor functions and not obscure the natural views.
3. Design and incorporate functional car parks and roads and include outdoor lighting.
4. Include part owner’s love for the beauty of the Australian bush and create a strong sense of nature whilst incorporating Feng Shui elements of water.

THE JOB:

This job was a large-scale project that required a good deal of project management due to the separate areas we were designing for.   An Australian billabong setting with natural local granite waterfalls and stream was decided upon to meet the design brief.  This meant we could create an Australian feel and incorporate the Feng Shui element of water, which is believed to bring business prosperity.

THE CHALLENGES:

As the winery is a commercial operation we had to ensure we met all the rigorous shire specs.  We also had to design the multi level area at the cellar door with a number of retaining walls, yet plant low not top obscure the natural view.
